FAQ

FAQ

Who owns my data?

You do. The ancestor who subscribes always owns their vault. Family admins own family vaults. Solum Legacy safeguards, but never owns, your data.

Can I delete my journal?

Yes. You can delete any artifact (journal, photo, audio, video) at any time. Deletions are immediate and logged.

Can I export my biography?

Yes. You can export your biography or artifacts whenever you want — Word, PDF, CSV, Notion, Teams, or email.

Who can see my vault?

Only people you choose. Curators and executors only get access if you grant it. Community equity (10%) is financial only — towns don’t see your vault.

Can I share just part of my vault?

Yes. You can share only the Ledger, only the Journal, or just the Biography output. Sharing is always under your control.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Data is encrypted when it moves (SSL/TLS) and when it’s stored (AES‑256). MFA is required now; 2FA will be mandatory in the future. The shield emblem shows when protections are active.

What happens after I pass?

You decide. You can set a toggle:

  • Immutable: never deleted.
  • Revocable: can be deleted by curators/executors.
  • Conditional: deleted only under certain conditions. Your wishes are binding once your passing is recorded.

Can children use Solum Legacy?

Children under 18 can’t create ancestor accounts. They can contribute under a family account, but only if a parent/guardian invites them. Parents control everything minors add.

How long is data kept?

Forever, unless you delete it. Solum Legacy is designed to hold stories in perpetuity. Families aren’t penalized if payments stop — continuity is preserved.

Does community ownership affect privacy?

No. The 10% civic reserve is financial only. Founding towns (Dunlap, TN and Belpre, OH) have gifted subscriptions, but they don’t see private vaults.

Will this policy change?

It may evolve as technology and governance grow. Any changes will be logged and communicated through your dashboard. Your sovereignty always remains.
